Simone Scaletta ejer 5 hektar Monforte d’Alba, kommunen der er kendt for sine meget maskuline og kraftige Barolo vine.
Simone Scaletta´s Chirlet Barolo 2021 er dog mere feminin i sit udtryk.
Usædvanlig elegant, letløbende, saftig og sindsygt velsmagende.
Han bruger kun gamle fade, så det er den rene Nebbiolo frugt der kommer til udtryk i denne nærmest burgundiske Barolo, men tag ikke fejl, for selvom den er svær at holde fingerne fra, er der saft og kraft i den til mindst 10 år i kælderen.
Årgang 2021 i Barolo er en fremragende årgang, der kan beskrives som frisk, elektrisk og elegant, med en livlig og vibrerende syre. Den minder om 2019 og 2016 i stil, men er mere tilgængelig fra starten. Årgangen er ideel til at drikke nu, men har også et godt lagringspotentiale.
